“Absence of drainage forced the evacuation of one hundred families”

“Severe inundation struck on 16 April, affecting villas, terrace apartments and the shopping centre. Absence of drainage forced the evacuation of one hundred families. Six weeks later many households still cannot return. Upkeep and accountability are missing; residents themselves must clear the debris. Administrators are merely waiting for insurance settlements before beginning repairs to structures, roadways and other damage caused by the eleven-day flood. (Positives: Greenery. Negatives: Maintenance.)”
