“Almost eight months of family residence have highlighted the newness of Arjan—nearly every building is less than two years old—as its principal advantage. Construction quality is acceptable and the neighbourhood remains peaceful except near the main Umm Suqeim roadway. Everyday grocery needs can be met locally. Significant drawbacks nevertheless exist. Public transport is limited for non-drivers: the metro lies far away (nearest stations are Al Furjan or Al Barsha 1). Taxis are generally available but become scarce at weekends. The only reliable alternative is the RTA bus network, which operates to fixed timetables. Quality restaurants are also scarce; the majority of delivered meals originate from Al Barsha 1, Karama and similar districts. (Positives: Quiet and modern neighborhood. Negatives: Poor public transport facilities.)”
