Al Mankhool is the residential heart of Bur Dubai, west of Al Karama and north of Al Hudaiba. The streets run in blocks and are lined with trees, and the housing is mid-rise apartment buildings with a small number of older villas among them. BurJuman sits on the eastern edge, with Sharaf DG and ADCB stations close by.
It is central, cheap and full of long-settled families, a lot of them Indian and Pakistani, and daily shopping is a short walk in any direction. The buildings are a mix of ages and most have a pool and a gym, though not always a working one. Traffic and parking are the standing complaints, as they are across this part of the city.
