Mohammed Bin Rashid City is a very large development south of Downtown, bounded roughly by Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Emirates Road. It was announced in 2012 and is really several communities under one name, among them District One with its seven kilometre lagoon, Sobha Hartland and the Meydan side. Housing runs from apartments to mansions.
What it sells is proximity: Downtown and Business Bay are close, and two Red Line stations are roughly ten minutes out by car. Prices are high. Much of the district is still a construction site, so residents live alongside cranes and diverted roads, and how finished and how well run a given building is varies enormously, which is what the ratings below are for.
