Majan is a newer district inside Dubailand, roughly 15 million square feet fronting Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, just north of the geographic centre of the city. The master plan mixes homes with commercial and retail plots. What has actually been built is mostly mid-rise blocks holding studios to three-beds, much of it recent.
Rents are low and the flats are newer than what the same money buys closer in, which is the whole argument for living here. Global Village and the Miracle Garden are minutes away. There is no metro, the plot next door may still be a building site, and everyday services thin out fast, so a car does most of the work.
